Duo 4 by 6 has a wide range of performing experience and has travelled extensively throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

They regularly give recitals, and are musicians for Music in Hospitals. This scheme devotes itself to bringing high-class concerts to those who cannot travel to the concert hall. They have played for business events, weddings, champagne receptions, parties, restaurants, building openings, pubs store promotion days, funerals, festivals and more.

The diverse nature of their repertoire makes them appeal to many different audiences. In good weather the group can also perform outdoors.

CAROLINE KELLY (Violin), recently completed her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. She comes from Belfast, Northern Ireland and has played the violin since the age of 7. From this time on music has been her passion. She was a member of many orchestras, such as the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. Whilst at college she played in the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra as part of their Professional Access Scheme.

DANIEL MACFARLANE (Guitar), graduated from Salford University in 2004 with a first class B.A. in Music. From an early age he developed an interest in virtuosic playing, song-writing, harmony, composing and arranging. Daniel is responsible for arranging much of the repertoire the Duo plays, and this means that both Guitar and Violin share the roles of melody and harmony lines.

Weddings

Duo 4 by 6 will add a touch of professionalism and energy to your special day. They can provide the music for the ceremony (Civil or Church), and/or provide background music for the meal or drinks reception. They will be happy to play the music of your choice.

One possible combination of pieces for the ceremony could be:

Entrance of the Bride: Arrival of the Queen of Sheba (Handel)

Signing of the Register: Meditation from Thais (Massenet) Air (Bach)

Exit of the Bride and Groom: Wedding March (Mendelssohn)

The Duo can also arrange hymns and songs to be sung, and can play as guests arrive and depart. After the ceremony, the Duo can play at the drinks reception, and/or wedding breakfast. Their music can be chosen to reflect the mood of the gathering, from calm and relaxing to lively and energetic. They can either play a mixture of classical, jazz, irish and klezmer, or a programme of one particular style.
