Terry Butcher started his career with Ipswich Town, for whom he played over 300 games and helped them to win the UEFA Cup.
From Ipswich, he moved to Glasgow Rangers, where he captained them to the first two of their nine consecutive League titles. After 176 games and 11 goals, Butcher moved on to Coventry City as player/manager, he also had a spell as player/manager at Sunderland.
As an England International, Butcher gained 77 caps and scored three goals. He played in three World Cup Tournaments for England and captained the team that got to the semi finals in 1990.
